Modem Issues

I have a 3Com 3cp3298-del and when my system recognizes
new hardware it recognizes as a pci bus port. I
downloaded the driver for the modem and it worked at first
but now says no modem present but when I query the modem
everything comes back fine and device driver says working
properly. Please help im at the end of the rope with no
room to tie a knot.....

I've seen this again and again, modem gets logically stuck
and software won't speak to it, or vice/versa.
Try this, logically uninstall the modem and it's drivers.
then reinstall.
If that doesn't work, try logically removing the modem and
drivers, then physically remove the modem, boot up the pc,
let windows open all the way, then install the drivers for
the modem, then shut down, physically install the modem
and power up, good luck...
