Modem Detection

If the modem is not switched on when the machine is
booting (windows XP) it does not connect the modem. It
has to be installed again. The Plung and Play option is
on. This does not happen in Windows 98.

randomly the computer does not recognize the com port for
the modem. i reinstall, it works. i do have the modem
on when i reboot, only sometimes it no longer sees
themodem. whazzup? TIA
