MMC 8.5 ok 8.9 no good

I just bought the ATI 9800pro AIW with version 8.5 MMC.

I did the upgrade to 8.9, and buttons on the remote stopped working. When
ever I hit power on/off, I get a message to hit the left mouse button. Left
mouse button does not work. Also 8.9 was very unstable crashed, and bad
sound. The TV Listings button was removed from LaunchPad. Mouse Pointer
disappears in TV Listings. I guess it was not a bug fix, but a feature
release (EazyShare).

I will stay on version 8.5, in hopes that 9.0 will be a major revision and
not because ATI ran out of numbers for the minor. "Ok her is that one bug
fix/minor update, ohhh no we ran out of numbers, then just call it 9.0"

I have that nagging voice in the back of my head "ATI has a bad history with
driver software." I guess in general ATI software @#$% and that is one
reason to stick with NVIDIA. Then again NVIDIA does not make a TV tuner in
a high end kick @#$ video graphic cards. Ohh wait it is not the 7500 and
not NVIDIA so it is not a GPU but a VPU?

I have not questions and no solution other than stick with version 8.5.

If you want to disable the left mouse find the remote control icon in the
tray, right click to bring up properties, click on options, un-check the box
that says confirm power off for media center features. No more left mouse
needed.
