MMC 8.5 + teletext / teletekst

Hello,

Does anyone know, why MMC 8.5 does not include teletext? I re-installed it
form the CD wit MMC 8.1, but it doesn't work. It appears in the control
panel, but it doesn't seem integrated with the TV-tuner. Within the
closed-caption-menu, there is no teletext-option. I am using the AIW 9700
pro, on a Gigabyte G8 KNXP with Win XP PRO.

There IS a new Teletext App *built into* MMC 8.5 - accessible through the
rightclick menu on one of the TV App buttons from memory. If you want to
find out more, read the MMC Help and there's a section in there about it. Be
warned that the help file covers some features that aren't yet included and
I found the new Teletext to be a very poor performer compared to the old
(classic skin) version (couldn't get a full page to show up). MMC 8.5 was on
my machine for all of 3 days and I got so fed up with the problems that I
went back to the comparitively reliable MMC 8.1.

Thanks for your quick answer, but I'm not sure what you mean with
"accessible through the rightclick menu on one of the TV App buttons from
memory". Neither does the help-function really help much. I used to have
teletext with MMC 8.1 as on a normal TV-set, so for each channel it's own
kind of TT, but now there's a big brown box that pops up, and I can type a
number, but there's no info.

As I said in my first question, in this menu, I don't have tletext as an
option.
I have downloaded MMC 8.5 from the official ATI-site. I have the Catalyst CD
with MMC 8.1, which I needed to install teh dvd-player.

It's no great loss not having the MMC 8.5 built in Teletext because as I
reported in my previous post, it wont work properly anyway (at least here in
the UK). If you need reliable (working) Teletext (assuming you do have a
PAL AIW card and NOT an NTSC one, which will be the case if MMC 8.1s
Teletext worked - unless you've changed hardware), I recommend reverting to
MMC 8.1 until ATI fix things a bit more - ie uninstall all of MMC 8.5 and
remote wonder software then install 8.1. This worked for me with my AIW
Radeon (out of the ark 32 MB original).

Similar issues.

The 8.5 update does have a 'not very good' teletext as you point out.

I was driven to this route as installing the 8.1 from CD had issues. I had
the teletext option in the control panel, but the application just sat there
looking for page 100 and finding nothing. Reinstalled 8.1 several times and
the same result.

Now living with the 8.5 version ( but wish the 8.1 worked!).

My AIWcard is also 18 months old (standard RADEON AIW)
