Catalyst 4.2/MMC 8.9/Radeon AIW problem (+Cat. installation bug)

I tried updating from Catalyst 3.10/MMC 8.8 to Catalyst 4.2/MMC 8.9

Everything seemed to go OK but when I run the TV app it tunes in, finds 8
channels but then all the channels are blank with no sound.

Since I installed Catalyst and MMC together I am not sure where the problem
lies.

Using ATI Radeon AIW AGP.

There is also an installation bug in the Catalyst 4.2 drivers. I am using
WinXP Pro and have my Windows directory on C: but my "Program Files" are on
E:. One (and only one) of the help files appears to be hard coaded to
C:\Program Files directory rather than using the user selected path (or the
system default path). The work around is to make a copy of that file in the
folder it is looking for!! Strange - not a bug in previous releases.

My install/upgrade went without a hitch and all functions work. Did you
fully uninstall the old drivers and MMC?

Yes I fully uninstalled everything and used the ATI uninstall cleanup tool
too.

I have now upgraded to Catalyst 4.2 but have still got MMC 8.8 which seems
to be working OK. I think the simplest answer is to give MMC 8.9 a miss for
the time being - especially given the comments here abouts ;-)

Cheers
