MM2 on my new Dell

I just purchased a new Dell with a DVD burner and I'm very anxious to use
it, but it doesn't have a firewire card (didn't think to ask, assumed it was
standard now), but it does have 6 USB 2.0 ports. My other computer on my
small home network has a firewire card, so I know I can transfer the video
there and then access it from the new computer, but I was wondering if there
was a cable/adaptor that would allow me to plug my firewire cable into one
of the USB 2.0 ports instead. That sure would make things at least a little
bit easier.

If anyone knows if such a cable/adaptor exists and roughly how much they
cost, I would greatly appreciate the info.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You would probably just be better off getting a firewire adapter card. They
run about $30-40 if you look and are useful for other stuff too!

Thanks,

I have no problem with adding cards/drives/etc. to my computers, I was just
hoping I wouldn't have to modify a 4-day-old one if I didn't have to : ) I
usually wait at least a few months before I start tinkering :)

You're probably right, though.
