MM2.1 AVI files play slow in WMP9

After upgrading to SP2, I tested MM2.1 by capturing a
couple of videos. That worked without a hitch. Whew! I
then opened WMP of which I've had v9 since early last
year. I got the "welcome to media player series 9" screen
which I thought was odd. Obviously gets re-installed w
SP2. When I played my newly captured video it was fine,
for ONE play only. After letting it finish or stopping it,
then restarting, the play was a fraction of the speed
(video and audio). I could clear it by restarting WMP, but
I still would only get one play at normal speed.

So, I upgraded to WMP10 and all seems fine. Just thought
I'd throw this out in case anyone runs into the same
problem.

My problem is just the oppisite. When playing saving a MovieMaker project
(that plays back perfect in all formats but one) plays back half speed when
saved as a DV-AVI file. Any thoughts?

Phil,

My test videos were not rendered and saved in MM, just
captured with MM and played in WMP. I had no problems
before the upgrade to SP2. I've seen posts where the
opposite problem you have exists. DV-AVI is the only one
that plays normally. Where does it play back at half
speed? In the preview window, WMP, Real Player, etc? Do
you have SP2?
