MM 2 does not detect video capture device

I am attempting to upload my 8mm video to MM 2 via the
Dazzle DVC 100 capture device. MM 2 indicates that it
does not detect a capture device (dialog box does not
even appear), BUT XP system does recognize it, as does
other video editing software which would lead me to
believe it is properly installed. Any suggestions?????
