Hi,
Using FP2000. Been working fine, but now when I make
changes to my pages & upload, I've lost the active
graphics on the web site and only see blocks with red x
in the navigation bar. Preview locally works properly.
Read the messages & tried everything suggested, to no
avail. Reinstalled FP.
Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Murrel

Have you tried doing a complete/full publish overwritten all files on the
destination?

Yes.
I even made up a new (duplicate) site using same theme &
then copied the inner pages into the new site. Uploaded
that one and had the same results. I'm totally lost on
what to do. I would think the theme files are corrupted,
but then I wouldn't be able to view it locally (I think)

This all started when my hosting service "migrated my
account over to a new infrastructure" due to old network
provider's declaration of bankruptcy. Initially, the
message stated the FP extensions were not installed, so
they (hosting service) reinstalled the extensions. I
have been in contact with them repeatedly and they have
tested their FP and it is working for them, so it must be
on my end.

Do you know how your site was migrated (moved) to the new servers? Sound
more like the site was either FTP'd or copied, not published.

Ask the host to delete your account and then create a new one with FP
extensions, then you would do a clean publish.

I had them do that last nite. This morning I uploaded
everything as a new site. Same thing. Is it possible
extensions might be for FP2003 & conflict with FP2000?

There are no FP2003 extensions, only FP2000 and FP2002 extensions.

You are uisng File Menu | Publish Web, correct?

.

I just uploaded again, and the only page visible is the
index page background and text information. No links or
themes.

The only other thing that I can think of for you to check, if your site is
hosted on Unix/Linux, would be check the CaSe of the filename vs. the actual
link shown in HTML view of your pages and make sure they match exactly.

Try the procedure at:

Hi Murrel,

You said the preview locally works fine, but how about the normal view? I
had a similar problem where my active graphics (it's the selected portion of
the active graphics that displays when you're viewing THAT page) were
missing on the normal view but appeared on the preview fine. The theme got
corrupted or destroyed somehow on my end of things (I suspect theme cleaner
did it), and when I published without realizing the active graphics were
gone, it destroyed the online copy as well. To complicate the matter, I had
FP2002 upgrade over the top of FP2000, so my fix was a bit more complicated.
However, here's what worked for me.

1.) First, I removed the theme from my web site (theme none) AND published
it to get rid of anything corrupt online.
2.) I had to uninstall FP2002 and get it out of the way.
3.) I did a reinstall of FP2000 telling it to NOT install the themes (i.e.
remove them all).
4.) I turned right around and reinstalled FP2000 again asking for ALL themes
to be reinstalled. This replaced the copy of the theme that was corrupt. I
then reapplied the theme to my web site.
5.) Then, of course, I had to reinstall FP2002, visit Office and Windows
update sites and get everything back to where it was.
6.) I opened up my web site and applied the theme again. Everything was
there this time.
7.) I published to the live web site, which fixed all the broken images.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Pat for that suggestion. I will certainly try
those procedures and see if that works. I have had this
problem for several days now and I'm still battling the
problem, unfortunately, I'm losing.!!!! Thanks for that
update. I will give it a try and let you know.

Murrel

I tried your suggestion and after first making the
theme "none", I uploaded and it worked.
I cannot thank you enough.
