FP 2003 themes not working when uploaded: Is it FP or my server?

Paul

FP 2003 themes, as Active Graphics on the Link Bar do not function
when uploaded to my server as I see them when working on my PC.
(for example: the Network theme in the link bar).

My server asures me that there is not problem in their end,
that they have the FP newest extensions installed and that the problem
is with FP.

When I access my website on the server, the site settings indicate:
FrontPage Server Externsions Version: 5.0.2.2623
Server version: Apache/1.3.31 (Unix) mod_log_bytes/0.3
FrontPage/5.0.2.263

Does anybody know if these are the newest extensions?

I just imported the entire web to another computer running a fresh
new installed FP2003; when I open it, the Active Graphics
work perfectly. This show that all the files I have uploaded to my
web hosting server are OK, that the entire web I built with FP is
just fine. For some reason that I can'tfigure out, my web does not output
as it should from the hosting end. Am I right?

It's been several days and I cannot solve this problem.
Does anybody know what the problem is and how to solve it?

Thanks for your help.

Paul.

If you used Import that's your problem. You should Publish not Import.

Thanks for the reply, Rob, but I meant to say that I Published
from Remote to Local, then I opened the downloaded files
with explorer and the entire web works perfectly with all the
Active Graphics, colors and everything else.
The same web does notwork properly when browsed via
Internet, as if something was filtered or corrupted when
output from my web hosting server.

Thanks again
Paul

Thanks Rob,

This is the site
www.tenlab.com
that now is running with the
settings that I found work without problems.
In order for you to see the problem,
my subweb (the Spanish version of the site)
http://www.tenlab.com/Spanish/index.html has the Link Bar Properties set
to the “Network” theme, with the “Use Active Graphics” and the “Vivid
Colors”
options check. As you will see, the effects and colors of this theme are not
working, and instead it shows a regular link without any special effect at
all.

Someone at another Forum said:

"You are trying to run FP2003 'extensions' on FP2002 server extensions.
It won't work. To run FP2003, you need Sharepoint installed on the server.
I can see that it's not by this: "FrontPage/5.0.2.263"

May he be right?

thanks

Paul

1. There are no FP2003 extensions, all features in FP2003 that require the FP extensions are the
same feature in FP2002 that require the FP2002 extensions.

2. Windows SharePoint Service is only available on a Windows 2003 Server, and if the web host
chooses to install it, and in most cases will cost more per month, since MS SQL server is required.

3. One thing, I don't think anyone has suggested ,is to ask the host to check if Themes and shared
borders are enabled under the extensions for both the root web and the subweb.

If the Spanish site is supposed to look different then the main site..it doesn't they both appear identical. Try clearing your Cache.
