Missing TCP/IP address

I am unable to connect to the internet. After
troubleshooting I discovered that I am missing my TCP/IP
address. I tried to reset from the command prompt with no
luck. How do I reinstall my address

How does your computer get its IP address?

If your computer connects directly to the Internet, the IP address is
assigned by your Internet service provider. If your computer connects
through a broadband router, it's assigned by the router.

What do you think your IP address should be? What do you see that
tells you that it's missing?
