Missing Startup Items

On a clients Win2000 PC, we suddenly have some missing
items (WinFax Pro 9 and Palm Desktop). Those items were
there just a few days ago - but they do not load on
startup, even though they show up in the startup folder.
Am I missing something?

What happens if you manually execute the shortcuts? What happens if you
logon as another (or new) user?
