Missing some games and accessories

I

I somehow have managed to lose some games and accessories on my computer. I
don't have the installation disc anymore. I have tried previous suggestions
posted on this site to no avail. I do seem to have spider and wordpad.
pinball has a screen that pops up then goes away. But no paint or calculator,
the things I use most often. Somebody please help me! My daughter is driving
me nuts wanting to use the paint. I have Windows XP.

Have you tried Start>all programs>accessories>paint?

Also...
Start>control panel>
(on left side panel see "add/remove Windows components")
click on this panel>highlight Accessories>Details>scroll down and
ensure "Paint"
is ticked. Good luck...and I hope your daughter gives you peace
now. :)

firstly I would test the
pc to see the extent
of the modifications
your daughter may
have done.

click on start>run:

mspaint.exe

if the paint program
launches then the
problem may simply
be that the program
shortcuts were either
deleted or relocated.

on the other hand if
paint doesn't pop up,

then it could be that
the system files have
been tampered with.
