I have a similar problem so perhaps this can help both of us.
The basic problem is that I have lost the ability to Send/Receive my e-mails
in MS Outlook. The problem seems to be that I no longer have any
Send/Receive button or menu selection that I can select to Send/Receive
Emails. There used to be one in the toolbar and it is gone. Under
Tools-there is no longer even a selection in the menu to Send/Receive (and
thus there is no selctions under this submenu to try to fix it. I also
looked under the Toolbar-Customize and tried to see a Send Receive selection,
and there is not one there either. So any reference to a selection to Send
Receive seems to have vanished from my outlook.
Additional info. I can go into my Tools-E-mail accounts and do the test in
that screen to check the connections and that all works fine. As an FYI, I
was in this area recently due to the fact that my outgoing e-mails seemed to
have been sent but were not getting to any of the people they were being sent
to. I worked with my local service provide to adjust the SMTP and account
name to fix this problem. I think this is OK now based on this test noted
above. I can not say for certain but I think this is around the time that
the send/Receive may have also been lost.
Assuming something was corrupted in all this, I tried to fix this also by
removing MS Office from the PC using the Add/Remove button and then
completely reinstalling the software (did not remove the .pst or other
files). This did not change anything.
I am using Windows XP SP2 and MS Office 2003 SP3
