Missing pst

I want to remove a redundant pst file from my mail folders but I can't close
it insteat I get an error message saying "The operation failed. An object
cannot be found"; also, it is not present in the Data Files list, etc. I have
followed the instructions in other posts and changed my Mail Profile but the
problem persists. Any ideas?

If this data file is not shown in Data Management, then how did you create
the new profile, did you perhaps copy the old profile?

No I added a new proifle. The pst I'm trying to remove was originally the
folder in which mail was posted but reached the maximum file size (2GB). I've
archived, deleted and moved items from it so it is now empty and created a
new profile with a new folder as the mail target. I've even reinstalled the
entire Office suite but the folder still won't allow me to reomve it.

Can't say I know why, but today I tried creating another new profile and I
have finally been able to get rod of the unwanted pst. Thanks for your
suggestions DL.
