missing programs in the accessories window

just wondering if there was a fix for repairing missing programs from the
start menu accessories (ex. scan disk, defrag ect. missing) i am able to
find them on the system32 folder and they all work i was just wondering if
there was an easy fix for this. i also tried the accrestore file and i got
an error message 2147024770 automation error. not sure what this was maybe
that is the problem please let me know if there is a fix for this or should
i reinstall xp pro (sp2 installed) thanks.

The Accessories program group is not displayed on the All Programs menu in
Windows XP:

Restore missing shorcuts to the Accessories group:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/accessories.htm

If you get the "Automation error" when running the application available in
the above URL, then the scripting runtimes / registration may be missing.
Execute these commands from Start, Run:

regsvr32 wshom.ocx
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
