I did do what was suggested:
Start/Control Panel/Add/Remove Windows Components/ - then checked
Accessories & Untilities

Says can not open freecell.exe

I did a search for Solitaire - sol.exe
I found the file - SOL.EXE-1COC14EB.pf - but can not open

I only have the WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL cd
I do not the cd with the SP2

any help would surely be appreciated

Hi simdarhan,

Go one step further. Click on Details. Uncheck Games. Click Okay all the way out and reboot. On reboot, go back and check Games and click OK all the way out and reboot. Now try playing.

I followed the steps you suggested. I can ONLY get to the "OK"
I can NOT go out the way out. If I click NEXT, I will get promp
message ---
File calc.exe is needed. Insert Windows XP Professiona
CD-ROM. I inserted the CD. Keeps insisting can not find files.

My CD is the Original Wins XP Prof. But, now I am wondering if I nee
the SP2 CD????

Thanks

Do this. Do the same things, but leave the Windows XP Professional CD, in the CD-Rom Drive thru the Boot and Reboot procedure. I have Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade CD. I can't do an exact testing, since I don't have Professional.

When you get the error message that it can't find the files, is there a Back button, where you can tell it where to look for the files?

Also besides looking on the CD, try this folder: C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386 to tell the system where to look.
