I wish I have read your response to [Missing or Currupted \Windows\system32\Config\System file] from the Window XP Newsgroup before I reinstall the Window XP into my PC. I had the same problem, I followed the instruction to try to repair it from the Recovery Console by using the original CD. I managed to get to the Recovery Console and the command prompt, but I don't know what to type in order to repair. So I reinstalled the Window XP (I've created new accounts during the installation set up), I'm glad that I can still find our old files under the previous account users' folders. I've transferred most of the files back to the new account users' folders
In the new Window XP, I can't see my old progams from [Start>All Programs] anymore. I tried [Start>Run>Browse>] to open some of the applications. I can open some programs like PhotoShop & Adobe Illustrator etc. But some programs like AOL and almost all of the game programs will not open correctly, either it's missing some files or some video file is not available. I can see all my old programs within the folder. How can I make my programs work again without reinstall the programs again? Someone told me I have to reinstall all the drivers, I've tried to reinstall the drivers from the Driver & Utilities CD, I don't think I install it successfuly. Would you mind tell me what I need to do from this point

Thanks
Sand

You'll have to reinstall the applications, I'm afraid, to recreate
the hundreds of necessary registry entries and to place the proper
essential systems files into the correct Windows folders.
