missing or corrupt system32/drivers/ntfs.sys file

I just formatted my hard drive and reinstalled clean xp pro. now this
message again. I have done this several times and get the same thing.
windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
system32/drivers/ntfs.sys and it says here that there isn't a fix for this
problem yet. Someone else advised to download this datapol. whatever and
make a boot disc- what about the people who don't have a floppy drive? i need
the file fixed. Recovery console does not come into the picture, no access to
command prompt can't start windows. safemode w/ com prompt doesn't work.
Have tried everything except for on the new formatting the hd, deleting the
partition and using fat32. this seems like the only logical answer to me at
this point and reinstall all over again for the umteenth time. anyone else
out there with any other suggestion's or guaranteed fixex? :) I've about had
it... Thanks in advance, Sunshine

Have you tried a repair installation?

The installation CD is bootable, else you could not have installed XP.

There is a possibility that your installation CD is defective, and you can
check for this case on another computer.

Whichever file system you use has no bearing on this problem.

Hi,

Check your HDD. There are lots of tools from maxtor, seagate. It's possible
that you HDD have bad sectors. Check it! Y
Your Windows XP Setu-CD could be bad. Clean your CD or take an other
Installation -CD for installation.
