My windows xp pro is not booting up. it was working fine until i removed it
from my system and made it slave on a new system with sata hdd. after that
when i reconnected it to my system it gave following messaege during bootup.
" corrupt or missing ntfs.sys. please run repair from original windows cd"
the message was somewhat like this and then when i tried booting from xp cd
and tried to run setup it gave amessage" couldnot load setupdd.sys. error
code is 7"
earlier also it happened,at that time i formatted it and reinstalled windows
and it worked but this time it was a fresh installation and it happend within
a few days. someone suggested it might be a h/w issue. pls guide me.
also to mention sometimes windows loads but it runs very slow and then it
hangs and on rebooting windows doesnot load.

so your xp pro is not in the expected boot drive (C:) Unless you have boot
partition in C:, the new master drive, I don't think you can use multiboot
manager that comes with Xp to boot up XP in slave drive

You can however try on starting up PC press F8, so the Bios will bring up
boot menu for you to choose which device to boot up.. the time frame for
pressing F8 is extremely short esp. for fast PC. when press too late, you
can something else all together
