Missing or corrupt file

I have a dual boot configuration with Win XP 2000 Pro and
Win2000 Pro. WIN 2000 Pro is installed on the C partiton
and WIN XP on J. WIN 2000 Pro boots up fine however when i
try to boot into WIN XP i get error message that says,
"Win2000 could not start because the folling file is
missing or corrupt \windows\system32\config\systemd" then
the message goes on to explain how i should use the
recovery console etc.
I've tried locating the systemd file on the WINXP CD
however it's not there so i can't copy and paste. How can
this problem be corrected?

Since you have a dual boot it should be easy. From Win2k go to the WinXP
Windows\System32\Config folder. Delete the
System, Default, Software, Sam and Security Files. Then go to
Windows\Repair folder and copy those same five files and
paste them in the Config folder. Usually that will get you up and
running. With a dual boot you don't need the Recovery
Console to perform the operation.
