Sometimes when I boot up, some of my notification icons
do not appear in the task bar, such as my volume control,
mouse icon, etc. Do I need to reinstall XP?
I would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks.

Darin;
Is there a << looking deal next to your clock? If so click it, it hides
hidden icons. This should show your missing icons. If not post back for
further assistance. If it does work post back with that also.

There is. But the missing icons are not there when I
expand. They are definitely not there. It seems that
the times the icons are there, they populate very fast.
When the icons are not there it seems that the icons that
do show up seem to appear slowly (like something is
hanging them up).

Though, when the icons are not there, and I go to Windows
Task Manager, they are listed in the Processes tab.

Strange.

Darin;
Volume Control: Start/Settings/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio
Devices/Volume/check Place volume icon in the taskbar. Hope this helps.
