Missing navigation toolbar

I have lost the navigation toolbar in Internet Explorer but not in my
other Browser Firefox. How do I get it back please, I thought at this
stage of my experience of IT this could not happen to me but it has and
I cannot find any reference to a navigation bar in IE. To clarify
matters, the navigation bar to me is where I type in www.etcetc.....

You can't find a reference because it's called the "Address Bar."
To get it back right-click the toolbar, and check the line
"Address Bar."
