Missing Mail

We have just downloaded our email and read 1 message then
returned to outlook to find all mail in our inbox gone
along with our contacts and personal folders.

Is there a virus out there that might have caused this?

Is there anyway we can get the information back?

Unlikely that a virus caused it. What do you see? Do you still have a
Personal Folders file listed? If so, it it the same one you had before?
Are your folders generally residient on a network drive or are they usually
local to your PC? Describe in more detail the normal setup you expect/
