Missing file on bootup

C

chris

When booting up computer I get a message(which lasts about 2or 3
seconds)
System root/windows/system32/autochk.exe not found skipping.
This does not appear to effect my PC everything seems ok.I have checked
system32 (which was hidden) and contains the autochk.exe and chkdsk ok
..and cant understand why it cant find this file (system32 is protected
would this have anything to do with this) or could this have something
to do with the boot up sequence .I recently uninstalled system
mechanic, the problem seems to have occurred since then.Any help would
be appreciated.
Thanks

yeh, system mechanic was probably checking the net automatically. go to run
and type msconfig there you will find a tab called startup. look for that
reference and disable it......
