autochk.exe issue

Windows XP Pro SP2 loads and comes to a point before logon screen where
it says 'searching for autochk.exe, file not found, skipping' (not exactly
but you see the point) and after that continues to load normally. I've read
some articles at TechSpot forums trying to figure out this problem but I'm
not sure what to do from those examples.
My autochk.exe is in it's place (windows/system32) and none of my 4
partitions are hidden (I'm saying this because this was the problem in some
cases) and I have only one Maxtor SATA drive. It looks to me the problem
occured after System Mechanic has finished cleaning some files on this
computer although I can not be sure and it could be something else.
I am asking for a piece of advice in how to repair this, even if it
doesn't lead to a dissaster so far, but I'm not sure what will happen the
next time I boot. :).

Thanks in advance !

Do you have a copy under c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 if you have then
copy this to the system32 folder.

I don't see that folder, there is a copy of autochk.exe in
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache only
