Bob,
Go to Start > Run > type MSCONFIG click OK > Startup tab > uncheck any
reference to the LossRun.exe, Delfolders.exe and any others that are
supposed to be in a '/Tool' folder. You likely used a spyware cleaner at one
time and they were all removed except for the empty 'Tools' folder. However,
the registry still has 'LossRun.exe' in the startup folder. After unchecking
this reference & clicking OK, reboot. If the error message doesn't return,
go to the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and delete only the 'Tools' folder
inside of System32, do not touch System 32.

I have a similar problem - the reply for this has been removed from
the server.
When I boot a message appears that says Windows cannot find this file
I should check my spelling and try to search for it.
"C:\windows\system32\tools\LostRun.exe"
I drilled down to the Systems32\Tools folder and found it empty-No
files in this folder. I ran a repair of the windows XP files. That
didn't help. Ran scf /scannow, this also didn't help. I also tried to
expand the file from the Windows XP CD but could not find instructions
on how to use it.(msconfig)
Is it possible to copy the files for this folder (Systems32\Tools\*.*)
from the Windows XP CD?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much, in advance.
Bob
