Missing features in Nero..?

John Smith

Hi dudes

Using XP SP2, I'm trying to slipstream 2003 Server and SP1 and create a
bootable 2003 CD according to this guide:

http://www.enterprisenetworkingplanet.com/netsysm/article.php/3506551

However, when I get to the Nero part, I can't proceed because my version
of Nero doesn't appear to have the advanced features mentioned in the
article! The article says: "Launch Nero Burning ROM and select File,
New, then CD-ROM (Boot)" but I don't have any File menu. All I have is
shortcuts for "Nero StartSmart" and "Nero Express". Screenshots:

but I don't seem to have this screen:

I got Nero free with my CDRW drive. Do I have a crippled version or
something? Or did they change it, in which case where are the options at
the end of the article (load segment and number of sectors etc.) ?

What happens when you click the "Nero" button in the buttom right of
these two screens?

Do you not have Nero burn on your computer. I do not think that Nero express
has the feature that you need.

It doesn't, I have Nero Burning ROM which has the full version of Nero and
Nero Express and I looked through my Nero Express and it doesn't have the
advanced features the op wants.

Yes it does. The fifth icon from the left, the last entry is burn an iso.
Nero 5 = file - burn image - finalize - disk at once....

The ISO/Joliet CDfile system doesn't do anything regarding making a boot CD.
You wouldn't make a boot CD, then close the session, if you're adding data
after that to the CD as the OP is doing.

The guy needs Nero burning rom program, not Nero Express and its companion
crippled counterparts.

It is on the Nero Burning Rom full version. It is there on mine. It is not on the Nero Express
