xp pro and nero express 5.5

Can anyone help me!I have just installed an aopen cdrw
bundled with nero express 5.5 . The problem is the cd will
not autoplay and comes up with an error in autorun.exe
regarding the msvbvm50.dll file version 5.1.43.19 offset
00010d99.Will updating the file cure my problem or is it
that the program (nero express) is incompatible with xp.I
have found version 05.02.8244 (sp2)of the file, I believe
it is a visual basic 5 runtime file.

Download the Free Nero Update v.5.5 and install.
Use the Product Key that came with your Nero CD.

Nero express is not installed yet. It is the installation
program that is causing the problem (autorun.exe). There
is no cd key to enter as far as I can remember, it is
automatically entered by the software (on a bundled
version shipped with this drive) when it gets installed. I
have installed 4 of these drives before on w98se & xp home
machines without any probs.As I can not install then I can
not update to a later release of 5.5. This is why I was
talking about the visual basic 5 runtime file and whether
it was that that is causing the problem and should I
update it?

Just download the file as I suggested earlier. Apparently,
your Nero CD is defective. You do not have to have
a current version of Nero already installed to download
and install the Nero update since it is really the entire
Nero program.

Carole - just to confirm. Nero 5.5 is fully compatible with Win XP/XP SP1a.
