missing dll file errors

David

My computer suddenly became dead slow and when I try to
defrag or do system check it says that it cannot open
c:\windows\system32\msimg32.dll

I also cannot change my properties on my printer or
remove programs using the windows utilites. When I click
on those it just sits there and does nothing.

I have windows XP on a COMPAQ Presario 6000

Any suggestions

Since I can't access the computer at work well because of
these problems, if anyone has ANY suggestions, please also
email me at (e-mail address removed). Any help
appreciated.

To start with, Start>Run and type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes.
Note there is a space between sfc and /. You may need your XP disk.
Don't ever put your real email address in a Usenet or messageboard
posting because the spambots will harvest it and you'll get tons of
spam. Let us know what happens after running sfc and if you need more
help.
