Missing DATA1PRO.MSI

In the ME General forum, I have been asking about a freezing Excel during the
print function, or if working on work sheet and decide to save it.. no
trouble, but when I go to close Excel - the Laptop freezes. {out of memory or
error is reported}
On both of these processes the Whole darn laptop Freezes and requires a hard
boot to restart. If the spreadsheet was saved.. OK... but still cannot print
it. We tried little sheets and there is no cue to this local printer.

I am connected to a LAN with NT running.

The fellows in the MS - ME General FAQ Forum suggested reinstalling Excel or
even the whole suite & to post future Ques to this forum...
so, Here I am.
When I put the MS Office 2000 Pro install CD in my 1999 vintage Dell laptop
with ME Running.... the erorr message is DATA1PRO.MSI is missing
.....installation will not continue.

OK, So How do I repair or reinstall Excel? OR do you have other thoughts
based on experience!

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Hmmm, we have Office 2000 Pro here at work and when it looks for the MSI
files it's never followed by "PRO". With that said, we do get problems where
even though we have the files on a share, an error pops up saying data1.msi
cannot be found - this is especially screwy since the location it says it
can't be found at is exactly where it is. So what I do is browse to the file
and things work fine - you may want to try the same.

Hi Mark,

Tried that but to no avail.... it is getting rather frustrating.... still
hoping there is another option out there somewhere. Both my laptop and the
original discs - registered to me.... do not have this file.
