Missing buttons from folders

Hi,
When I open a folder all the buttons eg File, Tools, Edit etc are missing from them. When I log on to my brothers account they are there.

Sounds like you inadvertently hit the F11 key, switching
the view to full screen. Open the folder and hit F11 and
you should be back where you want to be.

Thanks for your reply.
The folder is not in full screen mode it is in a normal view and the navigation buttons and file, edit, tools are not there. Hitting the F11 keys does not bring them back
