Misbehaving Favorites List

My favorites list is acting weird. It doesn't display a number of entries
that should be there. If I try to replace, it tells me that items with that
name already exist in the favorites list. If I click Yes to overwrite them,
it displays them, but looses them again when I re-start IE. However,
completely new can be added, and do stay put after closing and re-starting
the program.

How do I clean out the Favorites List completely to get a fresh start? Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -Thanks.

Make sure that your favorites are not being stored elsewhere in a
corrupted folder, like mine were until I found what was happening.

Create a new folder in organize favorites > r.c. the folder c.
properties and observe the location.
