Minimized Applications

This is a re-post of one of mine that for some reason does not show up for
me:(Had to change the salutation though)
********************************************************
A very good afternoon to all,

This may qualify as the *stupidest* question asked in this group.

Way back in my WFW 3.11 days, people would tell me that minimizing an app to
the task bar required far less resources than if simply left full-screen,
and perhaps switching between maximized applications. I'm embarrassed to
say, but *I* certainly don't know.

IF this is indeed true, would it be to my advantage on this old machine to
do just that? Just in case someone would like the vitals on this box, here
they go:

It's easy enough to find out Curt. Start Task Manager and look at the
counters and the changes that take place when you do one or the other.
Applications use significantly less memory if they are minimized as
opposed to Alt-Tabing or switching between them by clicking on the taskbar.

Thank you John.

When the answers are so obvious, I feel like I've got "you know what" up my
*ss.

Many thanks again John.
