Mike not working

Hi, My mike is not working, I am getting sounds from
music and all but during chat If try to speak there is
not volume,
 
go to control panel then sound and audio devices and then
volume control then advanced then to file and make sure
mic is checked then make sure it is not muted. could
also check under voice and audio also.
