MIE has encontered a problem and needs to close

Windows 98SE/IE 6, suddenly cannot connect to Internet,
get "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close. Were sorry for the
inconvenience." Error message has too much information to
transmit unless someone can tell me what's pertinent. I
can tell you that the Error Signature lists the Mod Name
as "kernel32.dll". Troubleshooting at IE web site hasn't
helped. Downloading latest version/patches and
reinstalling hasn't helped. Using Add/Remove repair
vehicle hasn't helped. HELP.

Try this...
From IE> Tools> Internet Options...
or
Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions."

If IE then functions, go to http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm and
start working through the solutions.
