midi input

I am running XP and I noticed that there is no midi input driver. I have connected my casio and can play to it (midi out) but cannot get it to write to the program. Is there a driver out there that I need to get? I would appreciate an email from someone that can help.

i have the same problem. after some extensive research i have found that either one, the computer manufacturer has omitted the input ports for the midi or two, microsoft in its infinate genius has deleted the capability from the home edition of xp. either way looks like im going to have to get an external midi device to correct the problem. anyone with any other info please post or email me directly.
