My new XP has WordPerfect. I,m not sure , but I'M guessing
I can't receive Microsoft Word attachment and some
teachers want work sent to them on word. Would there be a
problem buying and putting Word on the XP since another
word processor is alreadythere? I know I sound stupid, but
you wouldn't believe the problems I have. Oh yeah,I have
Word 97 on an old CD for old computer. Can I use that?
Thanks

No, that's not correct. WordPerfect *can* read Word files.

WordPerfect can also create files in Word Format.

No, that's fine. You can have as many word processors as you
want. I have both WordPerfect and Word installed here.

Yes, you can.

WordPerfect can open Word documents, and so can WordPad.

1. WordPerfect will read Word Documents. You have to learn how to make it
recognize DOC files from the FILE-OPEN dialog box.
2. Word and WordPerfect will work just fine on the same computer.
3. Despite what another reply said, Word 97 will read all newer version of
Word. Some minor "bells and whistles" features might not work, but the file
will be readable.
