I cant seem to reinstall the word processor with out the disc. My dad was
playing with my computer and some how took the word processor out of
microsoft works and installed microsoft word. My computer came with XP Home
and everything on it. Now I need to get my Microsoft Works Word Processor
back. Every thing in the Works program is there but the processor. I have no
cd for itgot computer used. So I guess my question is Am I able to fix this
problem without having to reformat the hard drive?

Microsoft word is a word processor. It is the word processor that comes with
MS Office. so i must ask.....why do you then want to install the word
processor from works back on? as far as formatting your hard drive, that
wont solve your problem. if you have some sort of recovery disc, that would
help you. it will put your computer back into the state that it was in when
you first got it. If you really want to get works back, you can try going to
a restore point before your dad put word on your computer. Hope this helps!

Why do you think this is a problem? Microsoft Word is a *far*
more capable word processor than the one which comes with
Microsoft Works.

Most likely the WORKS word processor is still installed,
WORD is just set as the default word processor.

Look under All Programs for the WORKS folder and you should
be able to find the works.exe program, open that and you
should be able to select WORKS word processor, the
spreadsheet, etc.

Or if you just have to have MS Works, you can buy it at the store. MS
Word is a better program, though and more compatible with other word
processors.
