Microsoft Word Fill Effects

I am in word 2003 and 2007 and am using the fill effects feature. This
basically blends two colors together for the background. It shows on
the screen and in print preview that it is the whole page that has the
two blended colors but when you print it is actually multiple little
squares rather than one big square that is the size of the whole page.
Is there anyway to have it fit to the whole page when printed?

Hi fmitga

This can happen with differences in the resolution of the graphics presented for screen display and the resolution used for
printing, impacted by the settings in your printer driver for rendering of graphics/line art. It can also be in the method used to
create the background in Word.

What printer model/driver version are you using and how did you create the fill effect in Word 2003 and in Word 2007?

Separately, when you say cover the 'whole page' in printing that is going to depend on whether your particular printer has a setting
for 'borderless' printing.
