microsoft update xp home edition

I have automatic update, and have installed the latest
update. The oddest thing happens after computer has
finished restarting, everything (desktop, internet,etc.)
on computer (fonts)are small. I have right clicked for
properties and find that settings is on multimonitors and
screen resolution is at 1400 by 1050. I can go in and
correct this but it does not stay fixed. All of this has
happened since the windows xp automatic update. Can
someone please help, I'm all out of ideas! Thanks

I think those fixed were rushed out, because the Spanish version converted
some Spanish Windows to French! You may want to uninstall that update to
make sure it is to blame. Then, read the description and decide if you can
manage to live without it.

Thanks, I have uninstalled and everything is fine. I can
definately live w/out it!! Sometimes I think microsoft is
so messed up.

This is just a guess. After you made changes to your
environment (screen settings/fonts/etc) did you return
to the Theme tab. If it has (modified) in the box did you
press the [Save As] button and save the env to a xxx.theme
file? Same thing happened to me when I made font/color
changes and when updated things changed. Saved the env
and things are back to my desires. Now I have 7 different
custom theme files and each day get a new theme.
