Microsoft sharing and mappings lost after novell client install.

I have 3 machines that we use for a store. The store program resides on
machine 1. We map a drive ( as P ) from machine 2 & 3 to 1 and share out the
program folder and database and all the machines run the program from there.
Machine 3 has a laser printer connected to it locally which is shared out
allowing 1 & 2 to print to it also. This works great. You can power
everything down and it all come back up working. When we install a Novell
client on the workstations and then reboot all the sharing and mappings no
longer work. Any ideas on how I can still log into a Novell network and yet
still keep my little microsoft network?

Is this the Microsoft "Client for Netware networks" or the "Novell Client 32"
as supplied by Novell? If the latter, it's an extremeley invasive piece of
software that even modifies the gina.dll of your computer. The former should
be able to coexist with Windows servers, the latter probably will not.

What operating system is the machine acting as your Windows server running?
Are you using workgroup networking for the Windows mapping or is it an
actual Windows server?

I administer a Novell network and I have never had this problem with my
network. The Netware server is my domain controller and I have some drive
mappings to other Windows machines on my network set up at the workgroup
level.
