Maybe it would help to uninstall/reinstall Paint.
Go to...Add-Remove Programs / Add-Remove
Windows Components...
Accessories and Utilities / Details button /
Accessories / Details button / Paint...
Remove the check from Paint. OK / OK / Next...
Now restart your computer and reinstall Paint.
(go through the same steps and replace the
checkmark in the box beside Paint)
OK / OK / Next...
You will be prompted to insert your WindowsXP
disk in your CD drive.
If you see the "Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP"
install screen...just left click the red Exit button.
