Microsoft Outlook will not open

I recently purchased a new computer that came with Vista. When I click on
e-mail links or click on the Microsoft Outlook icon on the menu bar I get a
pop-up that says Microsoft Outlook cannot be opened. Any help or suggestions
would be appreciated.
 
Have you tried repairing the installation by re-running setup from under
Programs and Features? For issues with Microsoft Outlook check the following
newsgroup:
microsoft.public.outlook.general
 
MS Outlook does not come with Vista. Did you purchase Office 2007 with the
computer? You might have a trial version of Office & Outlook. That's why it
appears on the menu. Open Windows Mail and set up your email accts there so
you can retrieve your mail.
