Suddenly I cannot click on and open any links sent to me via E Mail. I use
Vista 32 bit and Outlook Express.

No, you use Windows Mail that *looks* like Outlook Express. Vista
doesn't come with Outlook Express.

MS recommends that you "update" to Windows Live Mail. I recommend that
you upgrade to Mozilla's Thunderbird. Check it out at
http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/ It's free.

I wouldn't know how you can use OE in Vista as it is not installed or
supported in Vista.

Sure you aren't using Windows Mail? The original post to this NG was via
Windows Mail.

Now for your problem. What happens when you click on the link? Exact error
message if any.

Have you tried to cut and paste the link to Internet Explorer and if so do
they open that way? If not what error message do you get.

How about duplicating a few of the links on the next post to see if they can
be opened.

Also, cross posted to microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail to enable the
experts there to attempt to help.

Hi Bob,

Close any web browsers and email clients. Hit the Winkey+r to open a run
box. Type the following and hit <enter>

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

You should get a successful message. Click ok, then retry the links.

Outlook express is garbage. I would try (for free) Thunderbird from
Mozilla. I would also try Firefox if you do not already use it.

Then after you'd moved to Thunderbird, do yourself a favour and direct a
copy of all your emails to a GMail account.

Then you'll have a backup of all the emails sent to you for the rest of your
life. Or at least while Google is still in business.

At my age, they'll be in business long after my lifetime, or at least
this one anyway.
