Microsoft Outlook to combine partial messages

Hi,

I used Outlook Express to send a large attachment (approximately 10MB) to a
recipient using Microsoft Outlook. The message was then split into 5 partial
messages in MS Outlook 2003. When end user tries to open any of the partial
messages, an error message box appears, notifying user that the attachment
could not be opened.

However, if the end user were to receive the attachment using Outlook
Express, the 5 partial attachments will automatically merge into 1 mail so
that it could be opened.

Are there any solutions to my problem? Thanks in advance.

I think you'll find it was Outlook EXPRESS that split the message on
sending, not Outlook on receiving.


When end user tries to open any of the partial
messages, an error message box appears, notifying user that the attachment
could not be opened.

Express, the 5 partial attachments will automatically merge into 1 mail so
that it could be opened.

If your ISP allows attachments of that size, try this:
1.. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
2.. On either the Mail or News tab, click Properties.
3.. On the Advanced tab, de-select the Break apart messages larger than x
KB check box

Outlook Express did that splitting. Outlook cannot.

That's because Outlook Express knows how to do that.

Turn off the option in Outlook Express that causes the messages to be split.
Tools>Accounts. Select your account. Click Properties, then the Advanced
tab. Look at the bottom of the dialogue.
