Search for attachments in Outlook

Outlook has wonderful search capabilities...except for one thing. It lacks
an option to find messages by searching for the name (or partial name) of an
attachment.

I like to keep attachments with the original mail messages -- in part
because there is no convenient way to record which attachments were received
with a message if the attachments are deleted (another deficiency), and in
part because because the associated message dates and sender/recipient names
often make it easier to keep track of different versions of the same file.

My question is, what is the best way to suggest to Microsoft that an
attachment search option be added to Outlook? Despite all the places that
Microsoft suggests it values feedback and provides 'Contact Us' or similar
links, I can never seem to find the 'right' place to suggest product
improvements....

Thanks!

No need to make a suggestion. Microsoft has already incorporated that into the enhanced search in Outlook 2007. If you want to find out more about the new search features, check out Michael's blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/michael_affronti/

For future suggestions, just use Help | Contact Us in Outlook. There's a link that gets you to the suggestion option for these newsgroups.
