Microsoft Office Word 2003 constantly "freezes"

I constantly have trouble when writing letters in Microsoft Office Word 2003
- the system freezes. I use Microsoft Office Recovery and sometimes that
works but not always. Have had my computer back to the people I purchased it
from and they cannot understand the problem. Today the system froze 6 times
in one page of correspondence. Often I have to close the whole system down
because there is nothing happening on the screen. Please can someone help me
- thank you.

If it is only Word that causes a problem -
1. Turn off Norton AV's Office plug-in If Norton is your AV software)
2. Update or reinstall your printer driver
3. Update your display adapter driver
