Hi,

I have a toshiba laptop which had office onenote pre installed...but
due to some reason,i reformated my hdd and installed fresh winxp pro..I
took a trueimage backup..

when i try to run the onenote exe from the backup folder,it says the
application isnot installed for the current user..,is there any way
that i can backup the registry keys from the original winx os(after
restoring the orig OS).. so that i can import those entries in my new
xppro so that i can run the application successfully?

Help will be appreciated....

Thanks.

Hi,

Basically no. An office installation can have a few thousand registry
entries, you would have to install it again into the clean Windows
installation from the original installation media.

Why did you not just replace the damaged installation with the image backup?
That is, after all, the main purpose of having that kind of backup (so that
you don't have to go through the process of reinstalling all your software).
