Last night I repaired my Windows XP Home Edition using the cd that came with
my HP Pavilion zv5000 laptop.
After I logged on to windows I started getting the following: it attempts
to run the install feature and is searching for documentviewer, it then comes
back and says that it can't find what it is looking for and to insert a cd
that whatever it is came on. I also get the same message when it tries to
install photogallery. Once I start cancelling out of the install for
documentviewer I start getting this error involving the Microsoft.net
Framework:
With this error message, I can click details to get the following info, or
continue...
Continue just gives me the same error message..."An unhandled exception has
occured in a component in your application. Click continue and the
application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Object instance
not set to an instance of an object."

I have not updated Windows Xp to Service Pack 2 because of this error. I do
run McCaffee virus software on this computer (I haven't had any issues with
it compared to Norton and Trend Cillian) but I do not know how to turn it off
or disable it when I try to install new stuff. I also have HP All In One
Photosmart C6180 printer software installed on this computer along with
software for an HP camera I no longer have. If anyone could advise me where
to go for a solution or how I can solve this error I would greatly appreciate
it as I am really tired of these error messages and would like to move on to
installing service pack 2 and all.
